Syphilis appears to be spreading like a California wildfire in Cleveland. The CDC has issued alerts and the local medical facilities and/or clinics are making sure they follow the CDC guidelines when checking patients for sexually transmitted diseases (STD’s). During this outbreak people should be running scared, but something tells me they are not.
The saddest thing about the revelation of the massive damage deadly STD’s have heaped upon the black community is the lack of response that is reflected in the skyrocketing number of new cases. This particular STD has even been narrowed to a zip code and has shown up in an unusually young group of teenagers for the disease.
